What is ABA?
ABA is an individualized and evidence-based intervention to improving skill acquisitions of communication, socialization, motor skills, hygiene, self-help skills and more, while decreasing maladaptive behaviors that interfere with an individual’s quality of life. ABA interventions are supervised by qualified behavior analysts who uses the science of behavior to implement treatment of behavior modifications for life changing results.
In May of 2017, Alabama’s Governor, Kay Ivey, signed into law House Bill 284 requiring certain health benefit plans to cover medically necessary treatment for autism, which included applied behavior analysis (ABA). ABA is considered to be the #1 choice of treatment for children diagnosed with ASD and is funded by most major Health Care Insurance Companies.
